Title: RE: atomic operations in base

Bob,

I really don’t want to boor people setting the record straight, but when the truth

is being muddled with then I feel compelled to respond.

>This is not a released piece of code

Point of fact, it is. Both versions of the code are publically available (i.e. published)

to anyone in the world on the launch-pad website.

>As I understand, there is no authorship on this code.

Point of fact, LANL copyright and my authorship are clearly stated within the original

source code.

My apologies  for a public email but IMHO sometime it can be in our best interest to

document clearly what is occurring.

Jeff

Hi Jeff,
You concern is a valid one and could be handled between you and Michael. This is not a released piece of code. It was passed around to a small group of people to test. There is no intention or interest to have copyright or authorship incorrect. As I understand, there is no authorship on this code. The acknowledgment is pretty clear in the email that you forward below. My apologies for any upset this has caused.
Also - apologies to tech-talk for the non-technical discussion.

I must admit to feelings of shock, amazement, disappointment, etc that you
would
take some extra effort to remove my author line from the source file and
substitute
Brookhaven copyright for LANL when openly deriving from my published work.
