Didn't think about using a menu-mux. Worked fine. It should be good
enough for my purposes. Thanks John.

I believe that the most recent version of EPICS base supports this but
edm has not been modified
to take advantage of the new capability. It is difficult to decide
where to put the maintenance effort
into edm in that it is mostly obsolete.
You may, however, do the following in the current version of edm:
Suppose you want five ranges.
Create a menu-mux object with "Number of Items" set to 5.
Each item will include a "Tag". This will serve as a visual indication
of the
range. It could include words like low, high, etc. or be assigned ranges
like 0-1,0-100,etc. Then, for each range, set symbols and values.
These will generate
values for meter attributes which may include the readback pv itself,
the scale
precision, min, max, label intervals, majors per label, and minors per
major.
Next create the meter using the symbols from above in the meter attribute
definitions. For example, instead of using 100 for the max scale
value, you
might use $(scale1Max). The value of scale1Max would come from the
symbol/value
you chose in the creation of the menu-mux object.
When the screen executes, you could change the range interactively by
clicking on
the menu-mux object or remotely by setting the appropriate value of an
associated integer pv
(which would need to be referenced in the creation of the menu-mux
object).

EDM users/knowledgeable,
I like that a meter can use HOPR and LOPR for setting it's scale. Is
there a way to update the meter when HOPR/LOPR change without having
to reopen the screen? My interest is for a power meter that has
different scales so I want the edm meter to update accordingly.
Thanks,
Wesley
