The Libera Electron Beam Position monitors, which we use at Diamond, uses
an embedded ARM PXA255 processor. The EPICS driver can be found at
http://controls.diamond.ac.uk/downloads/libera/
The main issue to pay attention to is that floating point support on the
ARM is very weak. It is useful, if possible, to use the more recent EABI
calling convention to avoid the cost of emulating floating point. More
importantly, take care to avoid using floating point in large waveform or
other high rate calculations.
Other than that the ARM is a very nice device to program, with a truly
exceptional assembler model.
