Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
All,
I have been working on a way to represent finite state machines entirely
in the EPICS database. I am making available a preview version since I
will be presenting it at the collaboration meeting. Preview means that
it is not feature complete or ready for production use. However, it is
far enough along that it should be useable for testing.
It can be found on the EPICS sourceforge site:

The tarball contains an IOC which runs several example state machines
(positioner, gate value, cryo+rough pump) and a set of EDM panels. I
have also written up a document which attempts to explain how it works
and how to use it.
