Title: cygwin 1.7 compatibility

Ru,

I’ve checked and my systems are all Cygwin 1.5.25, so I have not tested 1.7.

Hi Ru,

What hardware are you talking to?  I think you need to figure out which thread or threads is hanging.  When it hangs what are the symptoms? Is channel access working either direction?  I think I am running Cygwin 1.7, but I'll check when I get to work.  I have not heard of the problem you are describing, and we use Cygwin quite a bit.

Subject: cygwin 1.7 compatibility

I just ran into a problem running dxp 2-10 and EPICS 3.14.9 compiled
on a Windows PC running cygwin 1.7 (first release Dec 2009).  The app
runs fine on the same machine running cygwin 1.5.  The app runs but
after configuring the hardware, then sending or receiving an unknown
number of PV updates, it refuses further updating, and as far as I
can tell it just idles. SoftIoc works fine with my simple tests.  I
haven't had time to run proper diagnostics, opting to just revert and
get the users going. I'm still digging through the Tech Talk archives,
but I haven't found any mention of this, so far.  I was just wondering
if this has already been discussed or dealt with (e.g. perhaps EPICS
3.14.10+ has dealt with it?).
