I am not sure where that error is coming from.
You should either run your IOC under gdb, or enable core dumps (limit or ulimit commands in shell) and run gdb on the core dump.
Is there a reason you are running such an old version of EPICS and asyn? asyn R4-4 is almost 5 years old, and lots of improvements have been done since then.

I have successfully compiled my application in base-3.14.8.2 with asyn-4-4 in ubuntu(gcc ubuntu 4.1).
The
Ioc runs succesfuly, however, if I process some PV,it terminates and shows the following error:
*** buffer overflow detected ***: ./ioc terminated
google search says:
In Ubuntu 8.10 and later versions, -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 is set
by default, and is activated when -O is set to 2 or higher. This
enables additional compile-time and run-time checks for several
libc functions. To disable, specify either -U_FORTIFY_SOURCE or
-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=0.
Please mention where do I specify it or please give me other possible solution.
Thanking You,
Tanushyam
