By far the best solution is indeed to compile a 32-bit version (one way or another).  It will run perfectly on a 64-bit machine.

I was poking at this a while ago, and managed to fix the crash on toggling buttons, but I never found a way to correct the gross mishandling of the axes.

Unfortunately it seems that further development of this tool is thoroughly stalled.

> 1) Striptool version 2.5.10.0 with Epics Base version 3.14.11. On the striptool graph window, right click and select toggle buttons option. If you do it one or more times, the strip toll is getting crashed. Following is the crash message.
