edm version is edm-1-12-27.tgz, EPICS base 3.14.10. Gentoo is up to date
with emerge --world. Ubuntu is Ubuntu 9.10.

I was recompiling the EPICS + edm on x86_64 machine.

I don't have the access to the x86_64 machine currently and won't have
it until March.

Others suggested to build EPICS_HOST_ARCH=linux-x86_64-debug to provide
more information and I plan to do so as soon as I get access to that
x86_64 machine again.
