I suspect that error is harmless. The Modbus driver may be calling
asynCommon->connect() again when the port is already connected, but that
should not matter.

Subject: (Another) Modbus problem
Like Emma, I am having a connect problem, however, it was all working
in another place, so I suspect the serial cable between the Digi
terminal server is the problem. Nevertheless, here are the relevant
software details:
EPICS 3.14.19
RTEMS 4.7
asyn R4-9
in st.cmd:
==========
drvAsynIPPortConfigure("ET-701"."ts-fee-801:2105 TCP",0,0,0)
immediate response:
===================
ts-fee-801:2105 TCP: Link already open!
When the IOC is terminated the Digi shows no connections; when the IOC
is started the Digi shows the connection is there. The Digi port is
of type "TCP".
What 'link' is being referred to here?
