Andrew,

Whilst we are on this topic msi used to expand macros in filenames from
the user environment. (Why only from the environment and not from the
command line, I don't know, but that's what it did). This now seems to
be broken because it needs to include EPICS version information to
determine whether to use macEnvExpand. This must have worked at some
point that doesn't any more. To fix this, I applied this patch to
version 1.5 of msi:
