Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hi Carl,
The "import exchange file" menu item is another example of a less than
useful option. Initially, the edm file format was a primitive collection
of ordered lines of text without the current tag-value semantics. At
that time, I was converting our existing control system from VSystem to
EPICS and had written a script to convert 95% of the proprietary VDraw
file contents to an exchange format to which this option refers. In
that the existing edl format is now superior to the exchange format, I
need to remove the option. But, darn it, there's sentimental value to
all this buzzard puss like when Vista Control Systems threatened to take
legal action because they were convinced I had stolen VDraw and
reincarnated it as edm (I sent them the source and they apologized, etc.).
I'll eradicate this menu item in a future version.

exchange/*.xch file is in the context of EDM?
Thanks,
