Attached is another image which I hope makes it even more obvious. It's one edm panel with two x-y widgets. The top one has been zoomed in on with a mouse "drag-zoom-area" operation. The bottom one is left as it was at start-up. The problem is that when you zoom in with the mouse, the actual graph drawing area gets smaller, and the horiz. borders get much bigger. This happens regardless of whether the num. of decimal places of the y-axis labels changes after the zoom (the preceision didn't change in this case). The new horizontal drawing area does not match the size of the zoomed rectangle (and it shouldn't), it just gets smaller by varying amounts. Right clicking and selecting "Perform auto scale" restores the drawing area to the original. Zooming by right-clicking and selecting "Adjust scale params" doesn't change the drawing area.

A couple of edm versions ago, this behaviour did not happen.

Are you saying that you want edm to anticipate the space it needs to display all formats in advance or are you saying that you want 0.000053 to fit in the same space taken by 10? Of course, if you give the graph more real estate, the difference will seem much less pronounced.

Hi,

Our EDM user's have noticed that the X-Y Graph widget's zoom feature does the zoom but in a smaller area than the original graph. So this means the zoom does not zoom so well as it could if it made use of all the space originally and still available. I have attached two images to illustrate. They are labeled before and after. Each image has two widgets only the top on gets zoomed. The bottom is for scale. Anybody see things issue also? Any fixes?

Thanks,
Carl Schumann
