Hello Jerico,

we also use several "GENESYS" power supplies with asyn and stream.
To the LAN part I have to add the following.
There exist at least three different implementations of the IP interface:
1. Agilent supllies one which uses TCP/IP. It works in principle
but stops working under heavy network load in our network. Agilent
was not able to reproduce this error, but we have several power supplies and also other equipment from them which just quits responding on TCP/IP.
The power stays on - to regain control a power cycle is needed.
2. TDK Lambda produces the same line of power supplies. Actually, the
power part is made by them also for the other vendors.
There standard ethernet interface uses a "raw ethernet" with modified
headers - so you have to patch asyn if you want to use this.
3. TDK Lambda agreed (on customer request) to provide an alternate
ethernet interface, based on TCP/IP. This is what we use now - it works very well, even under our heavy loaded network conditions.

Hello Jerico,

It should be sufficient to replace the drvAsynSerialPortConfigure like in your startup script with a drvAsynIPPortConfigure line.

If the device uses the vxi11 protocol ("GPIB over ethernet") use a vxi11Configure line instead.

Greetings All,

My name is Jerico Tagle and I work at SLAC National Accelerator Labaratories in Menlo Park, CA. We have successfully communicated with the Genesys 300-17 via RS232 on EPICS (Thanks to Mr Dennis Armstrong @ PSI) and would like to communicate with it via LAN. If you have existing drivers for the Genesys power supplies via LAN, can you please send me a copy? My forte is Power Electronics and I am attempting to learn EPICS to control our power supplies for the future.

Thnks For Your Time!
