Hello Kirti

I don't think there is an "EPICS" method for implementing remote procedure calls, although you could make an argument that the "subroutine" and "GenSub" records could serve that purpose.  At LANSCE we use Sun RPC calls for some supervisory functions and in situations that don't lend themselves to an easy Channel Access solution.  If your system uses NFS, then you probably have access to Sun RPC.

If you're interested, we have an EPICS "Shared Application" that implements Sun RPC on host computers and vxWorks IOCs.
