Hi Emmanuel,

it seems that no one mentioned CSS up to now.

Hello again,

I am trying to develop GUIs for a small epics control system (end-user
station). I am familiar with edm, medm, but am looking for something
which is more recent and slick.

Those days Channel Access have been developed for several 3rd party
programs (python, perl, matlab among others). Do those languages offer
easy GUI-design interface? In the case of python/tk or perl/tk, I have
never seen a drag-and-drop GUI builder. It exists for matlab. But here the issue is licensing.
What about Qt? python/Qt and such?

What is the status of the java-based epics office?
Have a try...

How difficult/easy is it to develop GUIs?
There's a whole bunch of training displays coming with CSS/SDS.
Load the training displays into your workspace and have a try. (It works best when you also run an IOC to get real data...)

I'll be online from now on - sorry for the delay.
