Emmanuel,

1/ Are you talking about the LNK1, LNK2, etc. fields or the FLNK field? Your error mssage indicates the FLNK field. In any case it should work with CA_LINKs, but as the message said you need to explicitly reference the .PROC field, not the .VAL field (which is the default).

2/ You want to write the RVAL field rather than the VAL field, so you want to select DTYP="Raw Soft Channel", not the default which is "Soft Channel". This is explained in the Record Reference Manual.

3/ The text entry widget in medm definitely works fine with a longout record, I use it all the time. What problem are you having?

Mark

Subject: Basic record question (fanout / mbbo /longout)

Hello all,

1/
Is it possible to have a fanout that link to a record that is a CA_LINK
instead of a DB_LINK. For some reason, for me it doesn't work.
Reported error is
ZT4612:2:AChnlFO.FLNK is a Channel Access Link but does not access
field PROC

2/
Also I would like a mbbo to directly output (no other record) on a AO
record.
For example, 5/10/79/83 are mbbo options and values admissible by the
AO. When the MBBO is pressed, the value is propagated to the AO.
So far I have only been able to propagate a value from 0 to 15
(Mbbo.val)
Aren't ZRVL .. FTVL used for that purpose? Apparently no.

3/
With MEDM, is there a way to set longout records?
I have noticed that the "text entry" widget is not compatible with it.

Any help is appreciated!
