Thanks to John and Kevin for the help, particularly John. The font change suggestion worked fine but I do prefer the * solution. After some further help from John, getting around my failure to make edm properly, it now works fine.

Steve,

I made a quick modification and attached 3 files on the web site at
http://ics-web.sns.ornl.gov/edm/log/show.php?mon=Jan&theDay=30&year=2009

They show up under the "Attachments" heading on the left side of the page near the bottom.

I am not releasing a new version at the moment so you may download these files, replace the ones in your current distribution, and rebuild.

A new field called "Password Input" may be checked to get the new behavior. The control must be editable, associated with a string pv, and a motif widget. Let me know if the changes meet your requirements.

Creating a GUI with EDM. Would like to allow entry of a password, currently using a text control. Seems no way to have the text control just display say * for each character. It has been some time since I did X/Motif programming, but I seem to remember that was possible via the text widgets. Any help on achieving this in edm please?

Cheers

Steve
