I didn't know about the "Retry Connections" menu item. I just tried it,
and it doesn't seem to work for me either. I clicked it but nothing
seems to happen. I'm using MEDM 3.1.3, EPICS 3.14.10, on Mac OS X 10.5.6.
I looked at the function with signature "void retryConnections(void)" in
[MEDM-3.1.3]/medm/medmCA.c that gets called when one clicks on this menu
item. It doesn't attempt to reconnect all disconnected PVs; it just
tries to find one disconnected PV and reconnect just that one. The
source code comment says, "Find an unconnected PV and attempt to connect
to it. That should restart the searches for all other unresolved PVs."
Maybe the second sentence is not true with the current CA design?
