Subject: Channel Access performance metrics & PLC reliability

I am looking for any measurements made on Channel Access performance on an installed system.
This is a question of network load, processor load (if you have it), latency, whatever you have.

Also, there are some reported failures with the Control Logix PLCs. We are trying to select a PLC family for NSLS II. If anyone has reports or even stories please reply with what PLC family you are using - and how reliable it has been. The old way of thinking was that PLCs were as reliable as relays. It seems that the Control Logix is more like a multi-purpose computer than a PLC. I am happy to compile this information and put it out as a report.

Thanks,
Bob
