I do not have a MVME7100 in house yet, but I might still put RTEMS
on it if I do. I have a PC/Linux box, which was purchased two years ago.
I do not have a conclusive data to show yet. So far, the data from PC/Linux
is as sweet and fabulous as Hershey chocolate. I posted this message only
because Matt sent E-mail on this thread again, on Halloween. There are always
doors open to more options. If one's application could fit on a modern PC/Linux
platform, one might find that it is such a sweet treat. -- Kate

Hi,

I have used the MVME6100 with both vxWorks 5.5.1 and also vxWorks 6.6 with no problems.

By the way WindRiver does indeed supply a BSP for the MVME7100 under vxWorks 5.5.1 as well as vxWorks 6.6.

Thanks,
Ernest

Hi Matt,

What is your application for the mvme6100 ?
At NSLS, I developed the "disco" BSP for RTEMS 4.8, which was
derived from the RTEMS-mvme5500 BSP to support the "discovery"
based boards such as the mvme5500 and mvme6100. The BSP
works fine except the mvme6100 is not powerful enough to handle
the fast data rate of one of my applications.
I got impression from other users that the performance on the
vxWorks/mvme6100 is similar to that on RTEMS/mvme6100. Thus,
I needed to choose a modern and cost-effective solution instead.

Hope this helps. Kate

Hi All -

Are any sites using the MVME6100 on VxWorks 5.5.2/Tornado 2.2.1? If so, would you recommend these?

Has anyone considered the new MVME7100 board? I'm not sure on the state of the BSP.

Thanks,
-Matt
