I bought a CAN232 (EasySync) rs232 to can converter. My goal is to implement an epics soft IOC to communicate with a Wiener VME crate which has the CAN interface. So far, I am able to "talk" with the converter itself (the "V" command returns the version numbers).

I have built a simple "straight through" can cable (using pin 2, 3, and 7), terminated as recommended in the instruction manual and connected the can232 to the VME crate. When I issue a simple can command I get no response from the crate.

Has anyone used this device in a similar setup? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Zen
