What we have done with QT and EPICS has to date been quite independent
of EDM. We have a few cases where we use our EPICS/QT Widget Libraries
to build a custom application. We have many more applications where we
use EDM/motif.

John's project to port EDM from Motif to QT libraries has been on the go
for a while and currently is independent of what we have done. That
said we are open to talking about collaboration .......

So if you now worked with John Sinclair to achieve good performance
in EDM with QT replacing Motif, EDM will be easily usable on the many
platforms where the Motif work-alikes present installation and
configuration issues!

I'll count it as 'writing a new one.'
