Hi Burkhard,

That should not be too difficult. I have asyn port drivers that communicate with the Canberra AIM module, which speaks a low-level Ethernet protocol (IEEE 802.2 LLC Extended SNAP protocol). I have used both an LLC socket driver on recent versions of Linux, and the "libpcap" and "libnet" libraries on Windows and older versions of Linux. On vxWorks I've used both the older etherLib routines and the newer muxLib routines.

Mark

Subject: asyn driver question: raw socket support

Hi,
we have bought some Lambda Gen 8-180/LAN power supplies, which look from
the documentation "practically" the same as the power supplies from Agilent.
Nevertheless they use as low level protocol their private raw socket
interface, which involves fiddling with the packet headers, etc.

How difficult would it be to implement this as an alternative to TCP and
UDP in a port driver, given a programming example provided by Lambda?
The example code has basically a connect a send and a receive routine.

Any suggestions?
Burkhard
