The motor record has been written in C++ for many years, and I've been
using it under Windows with VC 7.1 and VC 8.0 for several years with no
problems.

pdbbase is defined in <base>/src/db, in dbAccess.c

Do you build the motor record using the C++ compiler? No other record
type
uses C++ for record implementation, so if you do you're the guinea-pig
here.
