The Controls Department at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) has an immediate opening for a controls engineer. This position will be supporting the new Linac Coherent Light Source, LCLS (http://lcls.slac.stanford.edu/) as well as other projects at SLAC. LCLS is constructing the world's first X-ray Free electron Laser (FEL) providing a unique research tool for the study of ultra-fast and ultra-small phenomena within the fields of biology, chemistry, material science and physics. The LCLS project has a total estimated cost of $420M and is scheduled to start operation in 2010. Future upgrades for the project are already in planning stages.
