It should be possible to write a small script to telnet to IOC and get a
list of records.

I also wrote an experimental soft-device support for waveform record.
It collect a list of records/record types/fields and return it as string
waveform(array) through channel access. Apparently you need to download
this device support (and waveform record) beforehand.
I will be very happy to send a source code if you are interested.
