Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hello all,
procServ is an application originally written by Dave Thompson at SNS
that creates an environment for running processes (such as soft IOCs)
in the background while providing access to the console through a
telnet port.
I recently added some options and fixed a few things - here's what it
does now:
- Can be used either standalone (it creates log files if told so),
or under a central console access layer like conserver.
- The auto-restart mode (can be toggled and configured) immediately
restarts a soft IOC on exit or crash.
- Has commands to manually shutdown and restart the soft IOC
without losing the telnet connection.
- Can be configured to write a daemon PID file to be used in
standard system service scripts.
- Console access is restricted to connections from localhost for
security reasons, while you can configure a second, public, read-only
port to allow other logging facilities to connect without going through
an account.
For a more detailed description, see the documentation.
Download the application here.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Ralph
