1/ X forward is set correctly with ssh 

2/ I made an error when reporting the local error.
I found that the local error is due to the edm file I am opening.
The edl file I was looking at has been developed at another site.
There is some information about this in the documentation, but I cannot
really make sense of it.

How are fonts expended/matched?
How is fonts.list populated? 
(I always used the one that came with the edm tar archive.)

When I start edm (without any edl file) locally it works.
When I do this through ssh, it reports a font error.
Font init failed - abort

Update:
If I ssh from a machine that has the same OS (fedora core 4), the error
disappear!!! When I ssh from a RH8.0 machine, edm report the Font init
failed - abort error.

Huh?!?!?
