Yes, I'd be interested.  That seems like it should be a fairly common
item.  I'm surprised something similar isn't a part of the base system. 
I really sort of expected it to already be there.

I have created a "strtabRecord" (string Table Record) for exactly this

problem. It uses an externally loaded string library. The library 
contains the string tables. Each entry consists of the integer number,
a 
string and an alarm severirty. If the input number is not defined in
the 
table, the record will display the number instead and the alarm
severity 
will be set to the predefined (UNSV). You can select a different table

during runtime. Connecting the library works similar to the subroutine

record. If you are interested I can send you the sources.
