Mark,

Your old screens should be compatible.

As of 1-11-1, the file named edmPvObjects has been changed somewhat and must be repopulated. The easiest way to accomplish this is as follows:

mv edmPvObjects edmPvObjects-old
edm -addpv /somedir/libEpics.so
dm -addpv /somedir/libLoc.so
dm -addpv /somedir/libCalc.so

where /somdir is the location of the referenced sharable libraries.

Sorry for the lack of documentation. I failed to clearly state the requirement to repopulate edmPvObjects.

If this does not fix your problem, let me know.

John Sinclair

We have a number of EDM screens that were developed using EDM version 1-10-1w. As this version does not compile under CentOS 5.0, I thought I would try the latest version of EDM (1-11-1 at the time of writing). This latter version compiles with no problems once the correct dependencies are installed (openmotif, giflib).

However, the EDM screens will not run under this new version.

Are 1-10 edl files forwards compatible with 1-11?
If yes, any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
If no, is there a conversion tool?
