Too bad: I misread the release notes, the problem is /not/ solved. I
upgraded to asyn-4.9 and StreamDevice-2.3, still the same behaviour:
sometimes after a reset of the GPIB gateway, the IOC doesn't re-connect,
the records remain INVALID/TIMEOUT. As soon as I call any of the asyn
routines (even asynShowOption is enough) from the iocsh, the system
successfully reconnects. I think, as a stop-gap measure I will add a
subroutine record that periodically calls some asyn routine, preferably one
that produces no output and doesn't change the system's behaviour. (Any
hint which I could use?)
