You cannot just set up the channel and then loop on a
      ca_get ; 
	ca_pend_io
That was my first attempt. 
When you restart EPICS you get the message 
ca_get failed Virtual circuit disconnect
forever.

So I tried to tidy up and recreate the channel but it seems that the 
fatal error is in ca_context_destroy.
