Hi,
I discovered that the problem was due to an incomplete installation of
developer tools. Specifically, the scripts which get put into /usr/
bin to support multiple developer tool installation were missing. If
you have installed the CHUD performance tools, it is important to
first uninstall the CHUD performance tools before installing Xcode
3.0. The CHUD performance tools come with an uninstaller application.
After I uninstalled the CHUD performance tools and then reinstalled
Xcode 3.0, I was able to build EPICS after applying the finite/
isfinite patch posted in previous tech talk postings.

The error message you sent says:

Installed assemblers are:

/usr/bin/../libexec/gcc/darwin/x86_64/as for architecture x86_64

So, I suggest to check your installation of Xcode.

You need to install epicsMath.h from Eric.
You may also need to edit configure/os/CONFIG.Common.darwin-ppcx86 to
delete
-isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk
and
-Wl,-syslibroot,/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk
from options.

Has anyone successfully built EPICS base 3.14.9 on Mac OS X 10.5
(Leopard) for X86?  It fails when I attempt to run make.
