Hello!

I'm having some problems with the Matlab part of the Channel Archiver.
Everything compiles (mex) fine in the /Matlab directory (make
matlab), but when any of the matlab commands are executed in matlab
(example: ml_arch_plot), I receive the following error:

??? Invalid MEX-file
'/opt/epics/extensions/src/ChannelArchiver/Matlab/O.linux-x86/ ArchiveData.mexglx':
libdbStaticHost.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory.

Maybe you need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the location of your EPICS base lib directory.

How serious are you about using that MEX interface to the archiver?

Is anybody else actually using that?

For what it's worth, and still on the experimental side,
I myself have started to directly access the archiver's
network data server from Java, and then in turn use that
java code from within Matlab, since Matlab can now invoke
java code in jar files without any of that MEX trouble.

As for details on how to access the archive from Java:
The "Control System Studio" includes a java API for
accessing various archive data sources.
A snapshot that includes the ChannelArchiver data server
is on http://ics-web4.sns.ornl.gov/css.
Get src.tgz,
unpack,
and check org.csstudio.archive.channelarchiver/channelarchiver.jar
and examples in org.csstudio.archive.channelarchiver/matlab.
