Eric Williams wrote: Can someone list for me the basic steps needed to add a new target architecture to the EPICS base build system? I'm not quite clear on which configuration files need to be added or modified to get this started. There is a page on the EPICS Wiki that discusses exactly this: http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/wiki/index.php/How_To_Port_EPICS_to_a_new_OS/Architecture It is fairly recent so it shouldn't be too inaccurate - the overall approach is certainly the same, although there now may be a bit more libCom/osi/os stuff to do relating to endian conversions than there was when I wrote it. Please let me know what if anything needs changing in the document. On a related note, is anyone already working on porting the EPICS IOC to the AVR32 architecture? I've not hear of anyone working on that - it's a completely new CPU architecture from what I read on Wikipedia. If you get it working, please send me the changes and I'll make sure they get into CVS and the next release of Base. What OS will you be using? - Andrew -- The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously. -- Hubert H. Humphrey
