Try adding the IOC to /etc/hosts or make sure it is defined elsewhere in
DNS, esp. if this is R3.13.7.  It appears that there is an issue trying
to do a DNS lookup to report the name rather than the number in
messages.

Would someone please remind me how to get CA to perform the broadcast  
on a linux 2.6 kernel.  We had to set EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST to get get  
the CA clients to work.  I thought this was discussed on tech-talks  
but I can't find the correct entry.
