Hi Nick and all,

I have discussed with the local organizers of HEPiX.
We agreed that the participants from both meetings can join each others meeting.
We also plan to organize a summary talk of each meeting in the other one.

Please let me know if you have other proposals.

As I mentioned in a previous mail - we have only limited space in our hostel.
This applies even more if two meetings of this size will happen at DESY.
So - please make your reservations in time!
And be so kind to register on our web site:

Matthias

I have just discovered that the next meeting of both EPICS and HEPiX
are at DESY during the week of 23-27 April this year. (HEPiX are IT
system support engineers from the High Energy Physics laboratories and
institutes, such as BNL, CERN, DESY, FNAL, IN2P3, INFN, JLAB, NIKHEF,
RAL, SLAC, TRIUMF and others) I assume this is a co-incidence, but has
anyone given any thought to arranging some overlap sessions (maybe in a
bar, maybe in a meeting room, maybe as a group, maybe on an individual
by individual basis)?

My slant is that we are getting more and more interest in doing compute
intensive processing on the synchrotron data (with tomography and MX
leading the way at Diamond) and so some members of our community may
have overlapping interests with them. Diamond, for one, may have
attendees in both camps.

Cheers
