Jeff,
I have not seen any effect beside the message. Can it come from a wrong use of
the CAC library? It is a self-written client and I don't know the code.

The error comes from cac_reconnect_channel() in service.c in EPICS 3.13.
To be more precise: Does anyone know which faulty condition (network,
system
resoures?) might lead to this message?
