Subject: IOC-OCTAVE server

Hi All,

I have spent some time to embed the Octave core to the soft ioc on
PC running Linux. The idea behind this project was to use the Octave
mathematical capabilities on a server (ie. on a IOC) rather then using the
Octave as a client in the EPICS environment.

The ioc-octave server acts like a standard soft ioc. In addition the
ioc-octave allows the use of the octave variables and functions by mens of
the epics channels. It was written a dedicated device support to associate
epics channels with OCTAVE variables and to build calculation
formula using OCTAVE functions.

More could be found on the page:
http://epics.web.psi.ch/software/ioc-octave/

The README file in the IOC-OCTAVE250107.tar.gz file explains the use of
the IOC-OCTAVE server.

Best Regards

Mirek
