Hello:
Who out there is using 'heartbeat' type databases or maybe
sequence code on top of ChannelAccess to monitor the health
of connections?
For example records that count up on one IOC,
and something that checks on another IOC
if counts are missing or delayed.
Do you use that on every IOC, at a very slow rate?
Or only between very few IOCs for 'critical' links,
on a network that's shielded from other traffic
as much as possible? At what rate?
With what tolerance for delays, timeouts?
Is the trip information used to trigger a yellow light
on some screen, or does it shut the whole plant down?
How well does it work?
You can email me directly, I'll then send a summary
to techtalk in maybe a week.
Thanks,
-Kay
