Try appending "<tab>exact" (where <tab> is the TAB character, ^i, to the
end of each font specification in fonts.list.
For example, change
helvetica=-*-helvetica-(medium,bold)-...
(r,o)-normal--0-(80,100,120,140,180,240,...
320,480,720)-75-75-p-0-*-*
to
helvetica=-*-helvetica-(medium,bold)-...
(r,o)-normal--0-(80,100,120,140,180,240,...
320,480,720)-75-75-p-0-*-* exact
(Note that each font spec above must be a single line)
Then run edm and see if there are missing fonts. Perhaps include only
one font at a time in fonts.list.
You may also do xlsfonts | more to examine fonts installed on your
system.
Normally, X will substitute another font for a missing one if you leave
out the "exact" option, but it seems that with FC5, something is amiss.
