Ernest Williams found way to work with Windows/CMD(not cygwin)/VC++ 8.0/Epics 3.14.8.2. I have tested with Windows/CMD(not cygwin)/VC++ 7.0/Epics 3.14.8.2.

1. Simple "makeBaseApp.pl -t example example" doesn't work.
2. "makeBaseApp.pl -b <EpicsBase> -t example example" doesn't work.
3. "makeBaseApp.pl -T <EpicsTemplate> -t example example" doesn't work.

But "makeBaseApp.pl -b c:\epics\base -T c:\epics\base\templates\makeBaseApp\top -t example example" does work. 

Please, fix that.

I am using cygwin gnu make 3.80 w/o issues. Is this a problem with a mingw gnu make or is it a problem with using bash to build the system for win32-x86 (on windows I am building using the windows supplied dos shell). On my system mingw does not include a gnu make binary, but I might have an older version of mingw.

I am creating my application (and specifying the path to base) like this, and building the application w/o issues. 

>perl ..\base\bin\win32-x86\makeBaseApp.pl -i -t example ex
>perl ..\base\bin\win32-x86\makeBaseApp.pl -t example ex

Is this really an issue with the -b option for makeBaseApp on windows?

I have loaded and tried to build Epics 3.14.8.2 on Windows OS with VC++ (VC++ 7.0 in VS2003) and gnu make 3.80.0-3 (mingv).
I found that
- still there is com.dll issue ( http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/tech-talk/2006/msg00323.php ) - thank you Dale

Then I tried to build test IOC and met the same problem as was noticed here

Usage of "-b <epics_Base>" doesn't help.

Can anyone fix first issue and help with second?
