Hey David,
I can send you that (vintage Dalesio) driver if you want, its written for a
serial VME board MVME335 under vxWorks. Get back to me offline.  There are
also some Modbus/IP versions floating around.  I've a collection from various
sites that I intend to peruse (someday).

I've found a reference to a modbus serial driver used at nstx.pppl.gov.

This is dated back in '99, so it's kind of old.  Still, gives a good place to
start for Modbus, possibly.
