COSYLAB is interested in adding Channel Access support to Ethereal (an
open source protocol sniffer) ... for a small fee of course. I'd like
some feedback on whether this seems useful ... and how much your
institution would be willing to pitch in.
It would be one way to feel a little more independent and confident in
one's ability to investigate site-specific communication anomalies, so
it has a real payback for your project.

2. We propose to add the support for the Channel Access protocol to the
open source Ethereal program. First estimates that this work could cost
between 10-15k$. We could do it faster if we would use our Java-based
program instead of Ethereal, but there are license problems with that
(we did it for a Telecom company) and would cost more in the end. Do you
think it would be attractive to you / rest of the community.
