David,

At Diamond, we intend to use the VHS401p for XBPM biasing. Your VHS402n
is of the same family and has the same software interface.

I have developed a driver targeted at vxWorks and all the necessary
EPICS support (currently R3.13.9).
Most of the hard work has been completed, with sufficient functionality
to enable a programmed voltage/current output. I'm presently adding
channel event and channel group support - also developing an EDM gui.

I have not yet added support for changing the module base address, as
the default byte-wise address of 0x4000 (A16 address space) is ok for
us.

Unusually, analogue values are read/written directly via single
precision floating point register (4 bytes wide); all access to the card
is by 16 bit word read/write, so floats (IEEE-754) must be accessed in
two operations, high word and low word. Even so, the board's firmware
appears to have been well designed.

If it helps, I could tar the support module as it stands and email it to
you - just let me know.

Best regards,

Ian Gillingham

Looking for a driver for an ISEG VHS402n HV Module. This is a VME card
that we are evaluating for our BLM application.
