Hi Ned,In Germany we are interfacing our utility Systems mainly to Siemens-based protocols like Profibus or Siemens TCP, or Modbus or ...
How is it going?
How have some interfaced their accelerator conventional facilities to
EPICS? In particular HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems.
There are industry standards for Building Automation Systems such as,BACnet is THE future bus for utility installations. It will be the basis for several utility installation in the next project at DESY (PETRA-III upgrade).
BACnet.
Did someone interface to something like "BACnet" or "LON Works" (i.e. an industry standard for "building automation and controls network")?
Our HVAC system is supplied by TRANE (http://www.trane.com/ Does anyone else use TRANE?
