Hello all,
we at PSI have been looking at the Matlab-EPICS interfaces. There seems to exist two: labCA and mca. We would like to select _one_ interface. To make that decision it would be interesting to hear your opinions and experiences. I had the (perhaps false) impression that mca was more widely used but seems to be currently without official support. I am not sure to what extent labCA is supported (i.e., can Till invest time in it, or is somebody else familiar with that.)
In addition there is the Octave interface (we have even our own...) but
I think the majority of us here would prefer going for Matlab.
Would there be any chances of consolidating into one interface package only? What are the advantages of one package vs. the other?
I would be grateful of any feedback.
Timo
