Ian,
you say there are no messages sent to the serial console, but
is the serial console (or the IOC itself) dead or alive?
- And if this consistently happens after 5 minutes it looks
like a buffer overflow somewhere. -

Hi,
I have a crate whose networking consistently falls over after 5 minutes.
There are no messages sent to the serial consol and I can't even ping the
crate after it happens.
I have reduced the application to a very simple startup file:
hostAdd "scuba232", "195.194.120.210"
value = 0 = 0x0
ld < /sw3/jac_sw/epics/jacR3.13.8/bin/ppc604_long/tnetDev
value = 518154048 = 0x1ee26740 = tnetDevClose + 0x928
tnetDevCreate("/pty/ls218_2", "scuba232", 2104)
value = 518140392 = 0x1ee231e8
tnetDevCreate("/pty/ls218_1", "scuba232", 2103)
value = 518121632 = 0x1ee1e8a0
If there is only 1 /pty device then the fault does not appear. It also
doesn't seem to matter which terminal connection is made, as long as there
are 2 or more of them. All of the created consol connections work until the
networking falls over.
The crate details are:
VxWorks version 5.4.2
KERNEL: WIND version 2.5
CPU: Motorola MVME5110-2263 - MPC 7410. Processor #0.
Memory Size: 0x20000000. BSP version 1.2/1.
Any suggestions appreciated.
