This is definitely not expected if both IOCs have the same 
EPICS_CA_SERVER_PORT (or use the default port). The links in a seq 
record are regular links like any others and thus should connect via CA 
if the target record.field is not on the same IOC. Are you sure the 
links are not connected? How did you verify this?
