Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

All,

I did a literature research on AI in accelerator control systems.
Now, I'm looking for some direct feedback from the accelerator controls
community on what kind of AI/intelligent control is or was in use to aid
accelerator control or accelerator operations (scope year 2000 - today).

In general, I consider as part of AI/intelligent control anything that 
uses (but not limited to)

.	Neural network control
.	Bayesian control
.	Fuzzy (logic) control
.	Neuro-fuzzy control
.	Expert Systems
.	Genetic control
.	Intelligent agents (Cognitive/Conscious control)


... this in turn could be used for things like

.	beam tuning 
.	fault recovery and/or fault detection
.	preventive maintenance



So my questions are:

	Are you using (or have you used in the past) AI/intelligent 
      control in one or the other form in your control room?

		If so, what is your experience with your AI application?

		If not, do you see any benefit of using an application 
		in the three areas mentioned above?
